We have been asked by a number of clients why would we launch our new high production mouth-to-mouth resuscitation device at a time when the CPR guidelines have changed and mouth-to-mouth is no longer the choice in treatment to be performed during normal CPR.
The purpose of this post is to explain that although the AMA (American Heart Association) and the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation published new guidelines in 2010 giving more importance to CCC (Continuous Cardiac Compressions); where the rescuer only performs chest compressions and does not give mouth-to-mouth ventilations, that mouth-to-mouth ventilations are still performed in certain circumstances such as in infants or situations where artificial respiration is required, drowning or any situation where there is respiratory arrest, it is also noted that in the UK, The UK Resuscitation Council advocates the use of artificial respiration on children.
There will be some time where previously trained individuals will still use knowledge that they have already learned, also not all countries have adopted these new guidelines. We at Paratex produced a new high capacity plant late in 2010, various government legislation still makes it law to have these items in business first aid kits. We still have had many clients point out the new guidelines. Allow me to just point out that possibly the name of the device is a bit misleading the so- called CPR face shield, perhaps needs a bit of a new name as it is here to stay, Its not only and never was only a CPR device.
Its original purpose remains the same to provide a physical simple mechanical barrier between the rescuer and the patient during artificial respiration. Many companies have over the years made special claims alluding to the fact that the device can prevent aid and Hepatitis and other airborne diseases. This is simply not the case we make no such claims the device is a simple contact barrier with unidirectional flow that allows the rescuer to maintain some distance from direct contact and protection from simple excretions.
I found and attached a video that explains the CCC a bit better as it is not the real purpose of this post, rather I’d like to allay any fears that the device is dying and we can confirm sales of these devices has increased over the past several months.

Keep posting stuff like this i really like it
